Do I have to license all my add-ons?
No. You can choose exactly which products you want to include. Many developers start with older titles, niche airports, or products they believe would benefit from increased exposure.
Do you support add-ons other than scenery?
Yes. SimAtlas supports any add-ons that would typically be placed in the Community folder, including:
- Sceneries (airports, landmarks, regions)
- Aircraft
- Liveries
- Missions / Activities / Bush trips
- Tools or enhancements that install into Community
We began with scenery simply because that's where the largest volume and widest discovery challenge exists — but the platform is designed to support all types of products.
I'm a freeware developer — can I participate?
Yes — and we'd love to have you. Freeware is a huge part of what makes the flight sim world special. While we don't currently offer revenue share for freeware, we help:
- Elevate your visibility to a broader audience
- Get your work in front of more simmers without requiring them to dig through forums
- Include your add-ons in the same discovery and curation environment as payware
How do you ensure that only quality add-ons are included?
We combine initial review with ongoing community feedback.
- We review submissions to filter out anything that clearly doesn't meet a baseline quality bar.
- We don't try to be the final judge of quality — the community is.
- We are building an in-platform rating system where simmers can rate their experience.
- Add-ons that consistently underperform or receive negative feedback will be removed from the subscription pool, so it does not dilute the value or earnings of higher-quality creators.

SimAtlas installs a copy-protection driver developed by Callback Technologies, a trusted software company. This driver enables secure, encrypted content delivery without impacting the user experience.
